Wall Panel Sizes

Which Eco-Bud panels are used for walls and openings: wall, above-window, below-window and above-door panels, and their thickness, height and width.

With Eco-Bud technology, a house is assembled from a set of straw panels made at the factory. Walls are assembled from wall panels, and separate elements are used at openings: an above-window panel and a below-window panel at windows, and an above-door panel over a door.

The range of panels and their sizes make it possible to prepare a wall layout and a specification for calculating the cost.

This article covers wall, above-window, below-window and above-door panels 400 mm thick.

Types of Panels

Wall panels are the main elements of a wall.

The above-window and below-window panels are a pair of elements at a window opening. The above-window panel sits over the window and the below-window panel under it, with the window opening between them. In the example below, the above-window and below-window panels have the same dimensions.

The above-door panel is the element over a door opening.

Sizes

Wall panel

  • Thickness: 400 mm
  • Width: 400–1250 mm
  • Height: 400–6000 mm, up to 12,000 mm to order

Above-window panel

  • Thickness: 400 mm
  • Width: determined by the design
  • Height: 400–6000 mm, up to 12,000 mm to order

Below-window panel

  • Thickness: 400 mm
  • Width: determined by the design
  • Height: 400–6000 mm, up to 12,000 mm to order

Above-door panel

  • Thickness: 400 mm
  • Width: determined by the design
  • Height: 400–6000 mm, up to 12,000 mm to order

The height and width of panels are specified in 50 mm increments.

The width of above-window, below-window and above-door panels is determined by the design and the specification.

Example: above-window and below-window panels 650 mm high and 2600 mm wide each. This is an example of the dimensions of each panel in the pair, not a range of widths and not the size of the window opening. Identical dimensions for these panels are not a mandatory condition for all window openings.

How to Use These Sizes

The sizes of specific elements are agreed during the design and the preparation of the specification. The ranges show the overall dimensions in which the panels are manufactured. They do not confirm the load-bearing capacity of a panel of any size; whether panels can be used is determined by the design.

Dimensions updated on 13 October 2026.
